She tells Falco that her uncle Decimus is hiding a silver “pig,” or ingot, in her bank box. The sixteen-year-old girl is a member of the powerful and politically connected Camillus family she is the daughter of the wealthy merchant Publius Camillus Meto and the niece of Senator Decimus Camillus Verus. Falco saves the girl from her attackers, and she introduces herself as Sosia Camillina. The story opens in the Forum of Rome, where Marcus Didius Falco sees an attractive young girl running away from two thugs. ![]() Set in the year 70 A.D., the setting is split between Rome and Britannia, featuring several real historical personages as characters.
